simple designing + inspiration

Now that it's the end of this project, I'm starting all my research/work that I have not done in the former hours and months that I currently had to work on  this. Smart. So very smart. Smartest thing ever. I am currently creating a series of questions about inspiration that if they don't sound incredibly stupid, I might possibly ask some people them. I am also working on the act of designing a simple design I like. I feel like this is the point to state my habit of drawing designs created from the spectacular and oddness of my mind. I have tried to draw simple designs before and broken my brain every single time. Now I am actually seriously attempting to draw a design a normally functioning person would wear in real life. This should be fantastical.....

Perfectionist therapy

So since this project is nearly completed, I felt the need to make some actually informative posts about what I've learned/want to continue learning during this project :) I heard about this book a few days ago and it sounded most fantastical and terrifying to my OCD like tendencies, but in a self-helpful way and so to truly learn more about my "this must be PERFECT" habits, I wanted to recieve this book in time to do a few pages for my presentation, but in case I do not, which would be very tragically saddening, here is the basic summary and why I think this book would be helpful. The title of this book is WRECK THIS JOURNAL. You are meant to literally wreck this book :) each page has  different instructions on it which you have to follow, all leading to creatively destroying this journal in your own indivual way :) I am incredibly OCD with books so doing things like stabbing pencils through a page, spilling tea/coffee on one page and the most horror filled page of all...CRACKING THE SPINE :S This book is meant to make you let go of being a perfectionist and find the beauty and art in the creative destruction of the journal :) In case I do not get it, here is the video I first heard about this from in case you are at all interested in viewing, though I doubt anyone will get through the whole 15 minute video though I actually hope you do because it is a wonderfully entertaining video that tells about this book much better than my words.

First designs

These are a few of the drawings I've attempted to draw for this project :) I'm not using them for this project most likely, but this is some of the work I've been doing :) I didn't think I would be this stuck on this project :( by december I had planned to have my designs drawn and sewn, but I clearly do not have that. I henceforth have a new project plan :) I will be drawing a design collection, but it won't have a singular idea that inspires it, mainly because that wasn't inspiring me. it will most likely include designs for: a shirt and skirt, dress, purse, coat dress, sweater and pants, maybe a couple more dresses and a finale dress. I want to try designing other things besides dresses so I think this would be a better choice for me and the odd ways my brain attempts to process life :) I will still attempt to sew one of them, but it will most likely be the simplest one so I can be done in time and be able to show something :) I also want to learn about how to start a clothing line/brand and research more about how to get started in fashion :)

My trip down tumblr lane

(Christmas tumblez is so purty :3 )
Hello dolls :) so whatever I've told you about this design collection before this point, please take every single droplet of my thoughts imparted onto this blog to be a utter lie (except for the fashion figures) because this marks the start of my complete collection re-do :) I designed my first collection at the worst but terribly most inspiring designing time of the year, which would be the period leading up to halloween and the day immediately after when my relatives start asking for christmas lists :) The cold times of this winnipeg place I reside in inspire me so much that I take a severe twist of inspiration about 2 weeks into november and everything I've made before that point is assymetrical garbage. It's like that really stupid and dearly odd thing about not wearing white after labour day that seems to matter so much in select movies. Anyways, my last designs unfortunately were made during this period and if I had planned everything out for them now, I wouldn't be getting rid of all my work, but I just feel inspired by winter now and I really only have rough drawings so I'm not completely attached to it yet. THE DETAILS OF MY NEW COLLECTION ARE AS HEREFORTH FOLLOWS
It will contain *mysterious drum solo*
* 1 shirt and skirt outfit
* 1 coat and dress outfit
* 1 oversized sweater dress outfit
* 1 fancy sweater dress
* 1 sweater and leggings outfit
* 1 sweater and shorts outfits
* 1 super secret finale outfit
* 1 super super super secret extra for good luck finale outfit
* 1 more super secret extra
Slightly smaller than my last collection, but it's going to be amazing and also it shall be the unofficial launching of my fashion brand which I'm starting next year, "near" which I think sounds really new, but old fashioned, haunting, but sweet at the same time :3 I took a little trip down the lane of my tumblr search area and while I was originally just going to use sweaters or winter fashion as my inspiration, I have decided to use my top 3 favourite youtubers as my inspiration instead :3 pictures have followed above which you have seen already :) it had unfortunately taken me 5 hours to find a good kalel picture for this post because I sort of kind of love posting tumblr screenshots on blogs with the hashtag name, blog name, tags and every other lovely thing associated with tumblez , but one blog deeply unfortunately had to have all le good pictures and a disturbing phrase for a blog bame which contained a swear, making it still more disturbing. i have still managed to find one lovely non-mind scarring picture so enjoyeth :3 please do care to remember that while oversized sweaters are a major factor in this dear and beloved collection on mine- they will not be simple and they will possibly not be cozy- all I shall promise at this point in existing time is that they shall be sassy and odd and extremely high fashion :3
                      Sincerly yours,

Fashion characters

GO TO pretteelittelledolles.blogspot.ca FOR MY MAIN FASHION BLOG :)
I used clothedmuch.blogspot.com for the fashion figure instructions and I'm pretty sure that most exact-like people use different head lengths for the 9-head fashion figure, but I used a cm ruler because it oddly doesn't have inches anywhere on it and measured out 2.5 inches which is most likely 1 inch resembling

Design updates

hello dolls :) I am fully realized that blogging on this blog has not been extremely regular...unlike my other blog where I post almost daily :p so itsy bitsy project update :) I am currently 5 designs away from finishing the rough draft portion of this project and hopefully am not changing them again :) I might add a slight steampunk feel to some of them though, because I've been extremely into that lately. For those of who who have never heard of steampunk, it's a movie/book/entertainment/fashion style set in a alternate version of the 1800's where electricity was never invented so they have to rely on gears and machines to fuel their everyday life. I have also decided on a name for my design collection :) CELEBRATE FOR MOI :) I'm most likely calling it the pie lady after Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd :)  She's possibly one of my favourite movie characters I've ever seen, so I really want to embody how layered her character was in my designs. I've also changed how many dresses I'm making from 13 to one so I can completely focus on making it perf perf :) While this collection is based off of stereotypical horror movie characters (the teen vogue young hollywood photo shoot), I'm not making them movie costumes. I want to take the character each dress is based on and make it into a 3-D personality that you can see by looking at the dresses :) I don't want someone to look at them and just know what character each is based off of. I really want you to have to think about it and decide for yourselves :) I just really want this collection to play a movie in your mind :) hopefully by next week I'll be mostly done with my final drafts and working on a dress pattern :) I need to be done the drawings at least before the middle of november when I'll start getting more into christmas and away from halloween which is more of a inspiration for my collection than christmas is :) I'll post some pictures of the finished designs later, hopefully when they're all done and bootiful :3 Tim burton is a huge inspiration for my designs too :) I love the weird and terrifying but deadly beautiful atmosphere he creates in his films :) The first movie I can ever remember truly loving to the point of self defence was one of his movies when I was 8, so that kind of started my obsession with movies and fashion and really just creative things and the dark and creepy in general :) I have only actually hated one of his movies and I don't even blame him for that trainwreck on film  so WHATEVS :)
